The Briarwood Difference

The heart of Briarwood is made up of our students and horses. Our full horsemanship program is designed to create a unique atmosphere to find success no matter who you are. From serious upper level competitors to absolute beginners just discovering the excitement of horses, there is something here for everyone!

Sarah's unique talent for instruction, training, and horse management create an unparalleled environment in which our horses and riders thrive. In fact, Briarwood has been so successful that that we have clients that have been with us for many years and drive from every area of the County. Beginning riders, junior competitors, college students, adult amateurs, and upper level competitors all combine to make up the Briarwood family.

Our lessons, clinics, and activities provide a team environment within our individual sport. Group lessons create camaraderie among the participants and encourage learning from each other. Private lessons allow for more individualized attention to solve problems or accelerate skills. Clinics provide in depth instruction in a shorter period of time. Packages combining private and group lessons offer the best of both worlds.

Briarwood maintains an active competitive program and we are currently fielding riders from Beginner Novice through the CCI** Level at Horse Trials throughout the Western States. We also attend introductory competitions, dressage shows and fun schooling activities. Most of our riders choose to compete at some level, but some choose to stay at the lower levels or not compete at all, and they are just as welcome in our program as an active upper level competitor.

We believe in providing individualized instruction programs that allow you to set and fulfill your own goals at your own pace. Whether you need to learn new skills, increase your confidence, gain experience to move up a level, obtain upper level training and coaching, or just have fun, we can design a program to meet your needs.

For those that do not have a horse of their own, we are extremely proud to offer a team of quality school horses. Each brings his/her own special talents to our program from beginner walk-trot experts to show ready mounts. Like our student base, most of our school horses have been a part of Briarwood for many years and a few have been with us since the beginning. Partial and full leases offer the benefits of ownership without a long term commitment. They also make a great transition for those planning to own a horse in the future.
